Elie M. Khadra founded Firelight Studio in 2026, bringing nearly two decades of experience working across documentary, television, branded content, and independent film.

He grew up in Lebanon, where the mountains meet the Mediterranean Sea, and began his career at Studio Vision, a regional television production company. His journey later took him to Dubai, where he worked as a freelance filmmaker, and then to Doha, joining an international team at Qatar National Television during the launch of a new channel and filmed projects around the world.

Since 2015, Elie has called the Bay Area home. As a Director of Photography and filmmaker, he has worked on projects for The New York Times, HBO, BBC, ABC News, KQED Arts, PBS, Al Jazeera English, and The Economist, while also creating work for technology companies, startups, agencies, corporations, and independent filmmakers throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

In September 2024, Elie attended the American Society of Cinematographers Master Class in Los Angeles, where he studied with renowned cinematographers Ernest Dickerson, ASC; Salvatore Totino, ASC; and Tobias Schliessler, ASC. The experience further refined his approach to lighting, composition, and visual storytelling.

While cinematography remains at the heart of his work, Elie also directs and produces, bringing a hands-on and collaborative approach to filmmaking from the earliest idea through production.
