Charlotte Buchen Khadra

Charlotte Buchen Khadra is a filmmaker, producer, and visual storyteller with a passion for poetic imagery, compelling narratives, and bringing underrepresented voices to the forefront. Her work spans documentary filmmaking, journalism, and branded storytelling, with a career built around finding the human story beneath the surface.
 
She has produced, shot, and edited documentaries and television stories for The New York Times, Discovery Channel, PBS NewsHour, PBS FRONTLINE/World, Current TV, and the Center for Investigative Reporting. Her work has taken her around the world, including Qatar, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Ukraine, Romania, and the U.K., giving her extensive experience working across cultures and creating trust with the people whose stories she tells.
 
Charlotte previously led the video team at Timeline, where she focused on uncovering stories from history with unexpected relevance to the present. Her documentary All the Way Home, exploring the psychological wounds of war, was broadcast nationally on PBS. As an International Reporting Project fellow, she traveled to Pakistan to produce a film about Sufi music and shrine culture under attack.
 
A graduate of Vassar College, Charlotte holds a Master’s degree from UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Her ability to ask the right questions, connect with people, and recognize the emotional core of a story helps shape authentic, visually engaging work from the first conversation through the final edit.
